Welcome. I hope you enjoy your visit.

I set this site up for two reasons; (1.) I am a history buff (see below), and (2.) I have a variety of items of which you may have some interest. These include photos of old Allendale County, people and places.

Allendale County (History Section)

I am a history buff and my main interest is in the history of Allendale County in South Carolina. This is only natural, for I was born here and lived my entire life in Allendale County. I started this site in 1994 with some old pictures and some history of Allendale County. Since that time it has grown somewhat!

In 2006 I started another sight, The Allendale County Web . The "County Web" is a site that is mainly a forum for and about Allendale County, it's residents and it's natives. There was a photo gallery there with over 1,000 pictures dealing with the history and people in and originally from Allendale County.  Currently they are being moved to this site.  Check the menu for  photo items.

I am working on sections entitled "Significant Places in Allendale County", and in the History Section, "Historically Significant Places in Allendale County", "Significant Places in Allendale", and "Historically Significant Places in Fairfax."

The "Significant Places in Allendale County" items are basically places on the map that have some value.  There are no comments on these pages, but there is a time lapsed illustration showing their position from the 1700's through current dates.  If you have any further information about these places, please submit it, and I will put it up with credit to you..

The "Historically Significant Places......." will have what information I have on its history and a time lapsed illustration showing its location throughout the years.  Again, if you have any further information about these places, please submit it, and I will put it up with credit to you..
